Central Christian Academy provides a Christ-centered education for it’s preschoolers. We focus on basic skills like sounds, letters, and numbers, while also working on the children’s social skills.
Preschool Academic Program
CCA is more than a day care; it is a well-developed preschool. We use the Abeka curriculum beginning in N3 and increasing in Pre-K4. This program not only helps the student develop social skills but initial academic skills in color, number and letter identification. We believe this is the time to have fun, and develop small and large motor skills which gives the child proper growth and coordination.
Class sizes in the Preschool program are limited to maximize individual care and attention.
- N3 – Students must be 3 years old by December 1st and be fully potty trained.
- Pre-K4 – Students must be 4 years old by December 1st.
Typical Day in Preschool
A typical day in the pre-school starts off at the door as the children come inside. The children are greeted by the teacher and, very often, other staff members. As the day gets started they move into saying their pledges to the Bible and to the American Flag.
The morning time is devoted to academics where students are taught with a structured but flexible schedule. They will work on their letters, numbers, sounds, a Bible memory verse, and social skills. This is all done in a loving, family style environment which creates an atmosphere that the children can grow in both spiritually and academically. Recess time is before or after lunch depending on the day’s schedule. If the weather is good then the children will have some time to play and interact with each other on the playground or we may use the large activity room indoors.
The afternoon starts with lunch. Students can bring a lunch from home or, if you prefer, can have a hot lunch in the cafeteria (once a week) for a small fee. Later in the afternoon we will have a nap time for the children. The days ends with pick up at 2:30 when parents can also have the opportunity to speak with the child’s teacher, if needed.
We also have a Before and After School care program for our busy working parents. See details HERE.
